The weather was finally dry enough for us to visit John Curtin, it was a great way to start off the term!
With Miss Hiatt we researched any star, planet or moon in the solar system and presented it as a travel campaign. We then had the chance to check out what everyone else had done at a 'Space Expo'.
Once again Wazza organised a fabulous sports day for us. Well done to all participants and a special thankyou to all the people who helped out. Thanks Wazza!
We have been enjoying learning from each other through our procedural texts. Lachlan taught us to play Slither.i0 and Kaylah taught us to play Marbles. Xanthia introduced us to a Uno Tournament while Dempsey and Sienna taught us Dodgeball. Carson taught us a game he created himself, Street Rules, and Ella taught us how to do Triple Jump. Indi taught us how to play Cookie Cutter on the computer and then Jet opened us to the world of Minecraft. Next week, Charlie is going to teach us how to play Footy.
Tony Collier returned this week for our second session of golf. It was very cold but a lot of fun. Four students have been selected to participate in the golf tournament at Midlands next Tuesday.
We have been working on Procedural Texts, how to do something. There have been many different ideas; PE games, computer games, feeding horses and even some cooking. We were very lucky that Bessie cooked a cake and Elana cooked some wedges. They wrote their text but then shared what they had made. They both did a fantastic job and we certainly enjoyed what they had made. A special thanks to Bessie and Elana's parents who allowed them to make the food and share it with the class!
Tony Collier visited to introduce us to golf. Due to the weather, we practised our putting inside (lucky we have a big classroom). The children had a lot of fun and learnt how to fill out a score card as well as how frustrating putting can be! Then some children will be chosen to participate in the tournament day at Midlands Golf Course. Thanks Tony!
